Tandem Bikes
Many people have the connotation of tandem bicycles straight from the early 20th century sheetmusic tune, "A Bicycle built for Two." The fact is, current tandems are very elegant, efficient machines. They are quite attractive for anyone interested in sharing "quality time" with someone else- a significant other, a family member, a friend.
We offer the opportunity for you to try out the tandem lifestyle. We have rental tandems that you can take for a week; or, you can demo any one of the new bikes that we keep in our shop. It is really important to be sure that a tandem you might choose is right for you, and we're here to help in that process of choice. We can put you in touch with others who enjoy tandeming and can give you their perspective on both the lifestyle and the hardware.

Many local bike shops just don't have enough apparent local demand for tandems to stock them and offer any special expertise. They can special-order a tandem but often just keep one or two in stock. We're able to offer more choice and support.
Tandems that we currently represent, with examples in stock to see and ride:

- Da Vinci (an intriguing choice with quality and its patented Independent Drive)
- Fuji (lots of bike for the money from an old, respected bike builder)
- RANS (highly rated recumbent tandems)
- Santana (the most-recognized name in American tandems, building them since 1976)

We'll gladly entertain a special order from another manufacturer if you look and can't find what you want in our lines...but our existing lineup is pretty broad!
A note to tandem, trike, and recumbent bike visitors:
Because tandem, recumbent, and trike test-rides often require more fitting time and resources, we ask that you contact us ahead to schedule a visit, or at least to let us know when you may be dropping in. If you don't, we'll still be happy to help you as best we can, but we want to make sure you get the service and attention that you need! A phone call or an email will do. Thanks!
