TTR Bikes

We sell bikes. Not punchy enough? We sell smart, sustainable transportation and people-powered fun. This is where we write about it.

When JJ and I were leaving work on Wednesday night, a neighbor from Miracle Hill walked across the street to invite us to theThanksgiving meal at the rescue mission. I wasn't able to accept the invitation, but I appreciated it, and it put me in the mind to consider some of the other things that I'm grateful for. I spent the ride home thinking about it. so, in honor of the holiday . . .

I'm thankful for having the option to do what I do. That means I'm thankful for the customers who make it possible, and who (usually) make it edifying and fun. So thanks to all of you!

I'm thankful to be part of a community with a burgeoning bike culture, particularly in the City of Greenville, which is energetic in promoting and encouraging active transportation.

I'm thankful for the bike advocacy organizations and the individual advocates that I have the opportunity to work with: BikevilleThe PCCUpstate SORBAGreenville SpinnersBike GreenvilleBikelaw, and many more.

I'm thankful for the other people and organizations who are working to make Greenville greener and more sustainable, and the other small, local businesses that I've gotten to know since we've been in town.

I'm thankful for our location in a part of Greenville that allows us to reach out and give assistance to the neediest communities. I am thankful for the groups, organizations and individuals who enable us to do. Some of them are: Miracle Hill, United Ministries, Buncombe Street UMC, St. Anthony's, Triune UMC, and the Salvation Army, but there are many others.

People ask what it's like to have a business next door to a rescue mission, and I tell them that I couldn't ask for better neighbors. I'm thankful to them and all of my other friends and neighbors on and around Hudson Street.

I'm thankful for the people I work with who make this a fun job—vendors and sales reps and other people in the business—along with my co-workers, whether they're blood relatives or friends who just picked up a wrench one day and decided to stay. So thanks to Scott, without whom TTR wouldn't be here (also without whom I wouldn't be here); and JJ, Mark, Roy; plus all of the folks who've helped us out—Chris, the Webb boys, etc. Working with you is a great opportunity, and I appreciate it.

Last but not least, I'm thankful for the most badass three-legged bike shop cat around.

Thanks everybody, and have a happy holiday.
