Outside Bikeville, Looking In

Two reporters from the Charleston Post and Courier took a day trip to Greenville a couple of weeks ago, and this article was the result. I was really pleased to see that they took the time to experience a lot of the bike-friendly aspects of Greenville, and also to ride the length of the Swamp Rabbit Trail and visit a couple of the businesses that have grown up in its vicinity (including ours!).

Greenville Rec's Ty Houck and both Brian Graham and Andrew Meeker fromRead More...

Bike Month is winding down, and this year it's been a fun opportunity to raise awareness and gain momentum for the future, particularly since we celebrated here by opening the Swamp Rabbit Trail and—thanks to some forward-thinking city council members—by keeping some bike infrastructure projects in the city's 2010 budget. There was even a Critical Mass ride this evening, which was a great chance to get out there and see a nice mix of faces both familiar and new (picturesRead More...

Local advocacy and the Bike of the Week

I've been wanting to do a Bike of the Week feature for a while, so I thought that Bike Month would be a good time to start. Sometimes it will be a bike that we sell or build, sometimes it will be a customer's bike, and sometimes it will be just whatever shiny object catches my attention that day. Here's the first one:

This is Donald's bikeRead More...

Greenways Ride

There are a lot of interesting events planned for Bike Month in Greenville. There's one coming up on Friday that's exciting for two reasons:

First, leaving work at lunchtime on a Friday for a bike ride? Exciting.

Second, it's going to become a regular ride—the third Friday of every month. As Greenville's planned trails and greenways come online, I can see this Read More...
